1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using Focusora ("the Extension"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, please don't use the Extension. We may update these Terms occasionally. Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.

2. Description of Service

Focusora is a browser extension that provides:

  • Website blocking to reduce distractions
  • Pomodoro timer for focus sessions
  • Task management and productivity tracking
  • Google Calendar integration (optional)
  • AI-powered productivity coaching (optional)
  • Journal with AI insights (optional)
  • Gamification features (levels, achievements, XP)
  • Cloud sync across devices (optional, requires account)

The Extension is available for Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge browsers.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

An account is optional. You can use all core features without signing up. If you choose to create an account (for cloud sync), you can sign in via:

  • Email with one-time password (OTP)
  • Google Sign-In

3.2 Account Responsibility

You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account. We use passwordless authentication (OTP or Google) for enhanced security. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately.

3.3 Account Termination

You can delete your account at any time from the Extension settings. This permanently removes all your synced data from our servers. We may also terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Extension for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to bypass or disable blocking features for malicious purposes
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Extension
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use automated tools to abuse the service
  • Attempt to access other users' data
  • Use the Extension to harass or harm others

5. Third-Party Services

Focusora integrates with optional third-party services:

5.1 Google Services

If you connect Google Calendar, we access only the calendar data you authorize. Google Sign-In is governed by Google's Terms of Service.

5.2 AI Features (OpenAI)

AI Coach and Journal Insights use OpenAI's API. Your prompts and journal entries are sent to OpenAI's servers for processing. We don't store AI conversation history beyond what's needed for the current session.

6. Intellectual Property

The Extension, including its code, design, icons, and content, is owned by Focusora. You're granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use the Extension for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Your data (tasks, journal entries, settings) remains yours. We claim no ownership over user-generated content.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Extension is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We don't guarantee:

  • The Extension will be error-free or uninterrupted
  • The Extension will meet your specific requirements
  • Your productivity will improve (though we hope it does!)
  • Cloud sync will always be available

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Focusora shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of productivity, or any other intangible losses.

Our total liability for any claims shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Extension (which is $0, since it's free).

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Focusora from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Extension or violation of these Terms.

10. Changes to the Extension

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Extension (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We're not liable to you or any third party for such changes.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify users through the Extension. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when changes were made.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
